  • Elon’s Why: Saving the World

The heroes of the books I read, The Lord of the Rings and the Foundation series, always felt a duty to save the world.

    ~Elon Musk

Elon’s businesses are seen through the lens of saving the world.

They are distilled as Mission Statements and Master Plans.

With SpaceX the overarching goal is to make human life multi-planetary with a city on Mars.

Tesla has four master plans, in fact.

Two have already been completed in full.

On Tesla’s website there are links to the other four Master plans:

The first plan summarizes them as:

    1. Build sports car
    2. Use that money to build an affordable car
    3. Use that money to build an even more affordable car
    4. While doing above, also provide zero emission electric power generation options

    Plan deux is:

    1. Create stunning solar roofs with seamlessly integrated battery storage
    2. Expand the electric vehicle product line to address all major segments
    3. Develop a self-driving capability that is 10X safer than manual via massive fleet learning
    4. Enable your car to make money for you when you aren’t using it

Master Plan Part 3 the mission is:

A roadmap for achieving a fully sustainable global energy economy by shifting all energy use—transport, heating, industry—to renewable sources.

This is explained .PDF to outline a proposed path to reach a sustainable global energy economy through end-use electrification and sustainable electricity generation and storage.

With Plan 4the mission is :

We’re accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable abundance.

It is posted on X and Elon calls it Master Plan Part IV.

The new Tesla Model S Plaid is the fastest production car in the world and the first production car ever to go 0-60 MPH in under 2.0 seconds. It also goes 0-100 km/h in 2.1 seconds.  This is called the “Tesla effect” and Tesla has affected the entire market to shift towards Electricity by 2035…

    Tesla Model S

In Tesla’s X post Tesla claims Since Tesla’s founding, each iteration of our master plan has focused on our north star: to deliver unconstrained sustainability without compromise.

The PDF about this topic and landing page prior explain Growth is infinite and in videos such as the Nov 2025 video with Joe Rogan Elon explain this will likely mean unlimited goods and services for everyone.  Eventually.

Elon has completed parts one and two and has made amazing strides forward with plans 3 and 4.

Tesla’s Optimus Robots Elon claims will become a bigger business than the cars by affecting the labor force and helping create sustainable abundance at scale.

xAi and Grok (ai) are two (somewhat) new ventures which playing more of a and a term Elon has been using more and more is Convergence to describe the crossover between his companies.

What makes this most impressive is how he has done so while building a rocket company which sends more payload to orbit than all other companies and countries combined, and the only rockets which relaunch.

SpaceX has hustled its way into the #1 spot in the world of rockets with an awesome mission as well. The Mission of SpaceX is found at SpaceX.com/mission where it says:

“You want to wake up in the morning and think the future is going to be great – and that’s what being a spacefaring civilization is all about. It’s about believing in the future and thinking that the future will be better than the past. And I can’t think of anything more exciting than going out there and being among the stars.” -Elon Musk

Revolutionizing the Automotive and Aerospace Companies

Elon’s brilliant mind, epic work ethic and the awesome teams he has assembled have produced the most valuable car company in the world: Tesla.

Simultaneously Elon and his teams have built the most successful rocket company in the world: SpaceX.

And when the epic SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket first lifted off it became the most powerful operational rocket in the world by a factor of two.

The new Starship rocket exceeds even Falcon Heavy with the Super Heavy booster boasting 33 Raptor engines in the first stage booster, and six Raptor engines in the upper stage.

SpaceX has effectively revolutionized the rocket industry with their ability to rapidly launch, refurbish, and re-use rockets.

The Falcon Heavy can lift more than twice the payload of the next closest operational vehicle, the Delta IV Heavy, at one-third the cost.

As of the time of writing (December 2025) SpaceX has launched 591 completed missions.

And even though Elon has sent his original Tesla Roadster into orbit around Mars and the sun, Elon is down to Earth…for now.

And the best part is with SpaceX the mission of making life multiplanetary is well on its way to becoming a reality.  There is a mission coming when Mars is closest to Earth.

The rocket will have the name Heart of Gold.  Inspired by the book Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

However with strong growth so far of his core companies in 2023 so Elon looks in strong shape to regain the title and is well positioned for even greater financial growth in the future…

Elon enjoyed a number of achievements in recent years, specifically with rolling out the Starlink high speed internet system and his massive move to buy the social network Twitter for $44 billion.

As of mid-December 2025, Starlink has over 10,000 satellites launched, with around 9,000+ actively operational and providing internet service.

Interestingly DOGE spelled backwards is E God…and Elon calls himself the Dogefather.  DOGE in the US government context means Department of Government Efficiency.

DOGE is also a crypto currency with the symbol $DOGE.  He has said “Don’t bet the farm on DOGE” in the past so be careful with your investments.  DOGE has supply added to the market daily so be careful when investing as it is not anti-inflationary in design like Bitcoin.
Elon’s massive wealth is a great indication of the value he has added to the market.

His humanity saving missions are his why.

  • We Live in The Most Exciting Time of All Time

We Live in The Most Exciting Time of All Time

From Awesome Rockets to AI Robots: Get Excited for the Future!

“Earth is the cradle of humanity. You cannot stay in the cradle forever…

It is time to go out there…be out there among the stars, expand the scope and scale of human consciousness…

    I find that incredibly exciting!

That makes me glad to be alive!”

    ~Elon Musk

Being excited about your work will help you create exciting results.

“We live in a very exciting time.  If you look at the whole course of human history and humanity this is the time of the greatest technological growth in history…and it seems to be accelerating.” (Tech week 2021)

So don’t settle for an unexciting career: Strive for an excellent future.

Your expectations and efforts today will determine your outcomes tomorrow.

Rocket launches are one exciting element of our fast coming future.

The rate of rockets launched is increasing year over year, as are the exciting technology they enable.  Starlink satellite Internet has opened up access to the Internet to millions of people who did not have it before.

Undoubtedly the new entrants to the online ecosystem will create exciting new innovations in the Ai and other fields as well.

At Italian TechWeek Elon shared his thought on the exciting time we live in:

“We live in a very exciting time.

I mean if you look at the whole history of the world, humanity, this is a time of the greatest technological growth in history.

And it seems to be accelerating.”

So true.  We live in the most powerful and exciting time of all time.

Not many people saw Google coming, or Facebook, or the vast majority of the information from history being available at your fingertips on a super computer you keep in your pocket…

But it all happened and more.

Technological innovations depend on the people who use technology and the Internet…and there are more people with technology and Internet access than ever before.

As of January 2023, there were 5.16 billion internet users worldwide, which is 64.4 percent of the global population.  And that number continues to increase until it inevitably hits 100% and we are all officially cyborgs.

    elon-musk-excited-and-starship-in-background-grok

    “You’re already a cyborg. Most people don’t realize you’re already a cyborg.”

    ~Elon Musk

The image above of Elon and the Starship was created by Grok Imagine.

Elon’s company Starlink is making high speed Internet available to many parts of the world that did not have any Internet at all before.

Due to the fact of a larger Internet user base than ever unpredictably awesome innovations will undoubtedly happen in the future also, likely at a faster rate than we are used to.

Elon is making those awesome innovations a reality faster than anyone else alive.

It pays to pay attention to Elon because the future is where you’ll be spending the rest of your life.

    Get excited about the future!

Who knows what AI will make possible?

Since AI can leverage trillions of pieces of information simultaneously the one certainty is it will not disappoint.

The Humanoid Robot Future Will Create Abundance

The robot future is coming” Elon says.

What will robots be able to do in the future?

They will drive for us, cook for us (whatever we want made perfectly like a 3 Star Michelin chef every time), cut and style our hair flawlessly, mow our lawn automatically, and do most manual labor tasks that cause humans to dread their jobs.

    And that’s just the beginning…

Robots and technology are literally out of this world.

Recently SpaceX launched the largest flying object of all time…

It was initially called BFR (Big FUCKING Rocket) then renamed to Starship…

And Starships were meant to fly.

Largest Flying Object of All Time

    Indeed Starship did fly…

    On 4/20, 2023…

Then it exploded in mid air.

But unlike its unrelated Soviet predecessor the N1 it was not the largest non-atomic explosion of all time…likely because Starship used a good amount of it’s fuel achieving 25 miles of flight.

But if it were not for the first unsuccessful Falcon rocket launches would SpaceX be what it is today?

    Certainly not.

    Pain can be powerful…

    No pain no gain.

Elon says he still has PTSD from the early failed SpaceX launches.

But the trauma he and the SpaceX team suffered helped them take the necessary actions to ensure the rocket improved and achieved orbit.

The future will rip apart the world as we know it like the rocket pieces above…

But the changes that might seem difficult at first will transform into a fantastic future over time…

A future where people are far safer in cars, freed from tedious tasks, can vacation in Space, and even live on the Moon or Mars.

    Successful Starship Test Flights

Since then there have been successful flights including the first phase booster being caught by arms from the Mechazilla launch platform.

Starship is the first launching system capable of making life multiplanetary and will take 100 people to Mars per trip.

Starship has had numerous multiple successful flights since its initial explosion and has a Mars mission on the way in 2026.

    Get excited about the future!

    It’s coming fast.

Work on projects that harness the amazing power of technology.

Don’t blindly cling to the past.

The ability to adapt and upgrade your skills with the changing times will empower you.

    Test drive a Tesla.

Make the most of today but live like you’ll live forever…because thanks to the power of AI maybe you will.

Or maybe AI will destroy us all.  Elon has said developing AI is like summoning the Devil.

Optimus Robots and Ai Will Make Everyone Wealthy

Elon has said the humanoid robot business is bigger than the car business.

“The most likely outcome is that AI and robots make everyone wealthy.” are his specific words in this recent tweet.

And if you think about it human labour costs are more than vehicle costs so this makes sense.

Elon and Making Artificial Intelligence Actual

Elon founded the company OpenAi as well as xAi and Grok.

I recommend following me for the latest updates about how Ai and the many ways Elon and his companies are our world and the future.

  • Maintain a Startup Mindset

    Maintain a Startup Mindset

On the Lex Fridman podcast episode 333 Lex interviewed the former Director of AI at Tesla Andrej Karpathy, who had the opportunity to work with Elon Musk, and is currently working on AGI.  (AGI is a hypothetical intelligent agent which can learn to replicate any intellectual task that human beings or other animals can.)

Lex asked: “What did you learn from working with Elon Musk?”

Andrej replied: I think the most I’ve learned is about how to sort of run organizations efficiently and how to create efficient organizations and how to fight entropy in an organization. (Entropy means gradual decline into disorder.)

He basically runs the world’s biggest startups. I would say Tesla and SpaceX are the world’s biggest startups.

Tesla is actually multiple startups. I think it’s better to look at it that way…

The Tesla tech tree is an awesome example of this.

In the interview with Lex, Andrej continues:

He has a very good intuition for streamline processes, making everything efficient. Best part is no part simplifying focusing and removing barriers moving very quickly, making big moves all this is very startup, but at scale.

Cybertruck is an example of bold Startup thinking since it breaks the mold of a traditional truck.

“Disruptive technology where you really have a big technology discontinuity…tends to come from new companies.” ~Elon Musk

The Startup ethos Elon cultivates is especially evident at SpaceX.  Because SpaceX is still owned in majority privately Elon has the freedom to move rapidly and implement innovations without answering to investors.

Elon retains majority control of SpaceX and because of this he can tweet whatever he wants about SpaceX.  By staying private Elon is able to steer SpaceX in whatever direction he chooses.

Elon’s majority control of SpaceX helps ensure the rapid roll out of new technology.

Hopefully Elon never loses majority ownership of SpaceX because he is clearly steering SpaceX rockets towards greatness and his accomplishments so far are nothing short of fantastic.

The problem with taking a company public is how investors tend to be solely concerned about ROI and quarterly shareholder meetings.  And this might create conflict with SpaceX since SpaceX is optimizing to make human life multi-planetary rather than optimizing for maximum profitability.  However interplanetary transit will certainly be big business one day if it can be achieved.

This is why Elon intends to IPO Starlink the Internet company, not SpaceX the rocket company.

  • Humanity Becoming Multi-Planetary Is Important

    Humanity Becoming Multi-Planetary Is Important

Multi-Planetary Life: The Key to Survival, Competition, and Greater Happiness

When life becomes multi-planetary humanity and consciousness will effectively have a back up plan.

And another option for survival if life on Earth becomes too boring, dangerous, polluted, corrupt, etc.

Competition creates a more compelling situation for everyone involved.

If life/laws/etc become better on Mars this will create a pressure for Earth to try harder to keep its inhabitants happy.

More places for happiness to exist leads to more happiness overall.

  • Work With Quality Investors

    Work With Quality Investors

If Tesla focused on quantity of investors over quality they might not be in business today.

The concept of quality is so important to the success of a business, especially in the early phases…

And quality over quantity extends to every element of the business, including the venture capitalists and investors it works with.

In a PandoMonthly interview Elon elaborates:

“If you have a choice of a lower valuation with someone you really like or a higher valuation with someone you have a question mark about, take the lower valuation.

It’s better to have a higher quality venture capitalist who you think would be great to work with than to get a higher valuation with someone where there’s even a question mark, really.”

    Quality matters.

Strive for quality people as investors and in all aspects of your life and your odds of living a quality life increase.

  • Have a Great Team Around You

Have a Great Team Around You

Elon has personally been involved in the interviews of the first 3,000 SpaceX employees.  Certainly he’s learned a thing or two in the process.

At the World Government Summit Elon was asked “How do you choose your team?”

Elon replied: “I suppose honestly it tends to be gut feel more than anything else…

So when I interview somebody my interview questions are always the same.  I say: ‘Tell me the story of your life’

And the decisions you made along the way and why you made them.

Also: ‘Tell me about some of the most difficult problems you worked on and how you solved them’ and that question I think is very important because the people that really solved the problem they know exactly how they solved it.

They know the little details.  And the people who pretended to know how to solve the problem can maybe go one level and then they get stuck.”

Nonetheless small and strong is often superior to large and clunky.

Or as Elon would say: “A small group of very technically strong people will always beat a large group of moderately strong people.”

    ~Fast Company, Feb 1st 2005

  • Improvise and Keep Moving Forward

When SpaceX was told to wait to launch rockets in the U.S. Elon went and found an island in the Pacific he could use straight away.

Elon once jumped on his private jet and flew to England to take a needed machine tool to a factory in France and speed up production.

When Tesla needed to test a prototype in the cold he hired an ice-cream truck with a big refrigerated trailer.

When there is a will there is often a way.

When you are willing to improvise and take action to solve the problems you face this will help you find your way through the darkness of despair and into the brightness of success.

  • Surround Yourself With Great People

A Company is a group of people working together to create a product or service.

In his commencement speech at USC Elon Musk explained that if you are creating or joining a company the most important thing is to attract great people.

“Join a group that is amazing that you really respect or if you are building a company you’ve got to gather great people.”

For a company to be great it must be made up of great people.

With Tesla Elon says a College degree – or even high school – is not needed.

What is needed is a track record of exceptional results.  Elon is smart enough to know exceptional people do not always have college degrees.

In the past I started and grew an inspirational quotes website until we were acquired…

The most enduring and persistent quote that continually resurfaced was from Jim Rohn:

“You’re the average of the five people spend the most time with.”

Or in other words: You are the company you keep.

    So keep great company.

    Surround yourself with great people.

And give the hard working people on your teams credit when credit is due.

In conversation with Bill Gates Elon said:

“Most of the time – I get way too much credit or attention for what I do.  I’m just the visible element.  But the reason those companies are successful is because we have extremely talented people at all levels that are making it happen.”

    Gotta love Elon’s humility.

Because of Elon’s willingness to share the credit undoubtedly his employees are willing to work harder than if Elon selfishly claimed the success was all him – even though it’s clear Elon and his involvement is a massively positive vector for success.

Elon’s powerful friends and terrific teams helped make it happen.
